1. Print and cut the pattern

2. Assemble the pattern
Overlap the marked areas and secure them with tape to form the complete template.

3. Transfer the pattern onto leather
Place the pattern on the back of the leather and trace the outline with a silver pen or tracing stylus. Use weights or double-sided tape to hold it in place (test the tape on a scrap to avoid damaging the leather).

4. Punch the holes
Use a round punch to create holes at the ends of the slits. This prevents tearing over time. Also punch the necessary holes on the strap for the rivet button.

5. Cut the straps and pieces
Use a precision knife to cut the slits for the straps, then cut out the remaining pieces of the pouch.

6. Round the corners
For a smoother, more aesthetic look, round the corners using a precision knife or corner punch.

7. Prepare and glue the strap
Lightly sand the edges of the strap that will be sewn to the pouch body, then apply leather glue for better adhesion before stitching.

8. Mark the stitching holes
Use a stitching chisel to mark evenly spaced holes for sewing.

9. Sew
Assemble the pieces using a saddle stitch for strong, long-lasting seams.

10. Insert the strap into the loops
Slide the prepared strap into the previously cut loops.

11. Mark the rivet button position
Close the pouch gently and mark the exact spot where the rivet button should be placed, aligned with the central hole of the strap.

12. Punch and install the rivet button
Punch the marked location and attach the rivet button. Your handmade leather tool pouch is now ready for use!

- Edge dye or smooth the edges for a professional finish.
- Personalize your pouch with hot stamping or your initials.
- Apply wax or balm to nourish and protect the leather.
Congratulations! You’ve just made your own leather tool pouch thanks to this tutorial. This DIY project combines functionality and style, and is an excellent way to advance your leatherworking skills.
